While most people experience some staining naturally as they age, more often these stains are caused by years of drinking certain beverages, like tea and coffee, or smoking.
The Zoom! whitening treatment is performed right in our office using a uniquely formulated hydrogen peroxide gel and the Zoom! Advanced Power LED chairside lamp. The treatment is virtually painless and will leave your smile brighter far longer than over-the-counter whitening products.
When you come into Bliss Dental Group for a Zoom! treatment, we will start by discussing your whitening goals and what you can expect from the treatment. We then perform a full dental exam to assess the health of your teeth and gums. For the best whitening results, we recommend you have a full dental cleaning prior to your Zoom! treatment.
During Zoom! treatment, we first cover your lips and gums with a protective material, exposing only your teeth. We apply the Zoom! teeth whitening hydrogen peroxide gel to your teeth and then activate the gel using the chairside lamp in 15-minute increments to remove stains and lighten discoloration.
This light exposure process is repeated three times, for a total of 45 minutes at your one-time Zoom! whitening appointment. A sensitivity-reducing fluoride paste is applied last to reduce any discomfort you may experience following treatment.
Immediately following Zoom! treatment, your teeth may seem almost unnaturally bright, but within a couple of days, your teeth will become a more natural shade of white. For most Zoom! whitening patients, we recommend following up treatment with take-home whitening trays for optimal results.
With proper post-treatment care and maintenance, Zoom! whitening treatment can result in long-lasting whiter, brighter teeth. The best way to maintain the amazing results of Zoom! whitening treatment is by committing to a regular schedule of brushing and flossing as well as bi-annual visits to the dentist.
